Long range, low power Wi-Fi® for IoT

Wi-Fi CERTIFIED HaLow™, the designation for certified products incorporating IEEE 802.11ah technology, augments Wi-Fi by operating in spectrum below 1 gigahertz (GHz) to offer longer range and lower power connectivity. Wi-Fi HaLow™ meets the unique requirements for the Internet of Things (IoT) to enable a variety of use cases in industrial, agricultural, smart building, and smart city environments.

Wi-Fi HaLow enables the low power connectivity necessary for applications including sensor networks and wearables. Its range is longer than many other IoT technology options and it provides a more robust connection in challenging environments where the ability to penetrate walls or other barriers is an important consideration.

As a part of the Wi-Fi portfolio, Wi-Fi HaLow facilitates a more comprehensive approach to wireless connectivity. Wi-Fi HaLow can deliver many of the benefits that consumers have come to expect from Wi-Fi today, including multi-vendor interoperability, easy setup without disrupting existing Wi-Fi networks, and the latest Wi-Fi security. Wi-Fi HaLow joins several other Wi-Fi technologies to deliver low power, high performance, and secure Wi-Fi to provide an expanding portfolio for a wide variety of IoT environments.
